SeaKnots

we have discussion going on regarding ....practice ....I strongly believe to practicing every aspect of sailing and reviewing what we did great and what we did wrong each time we go out , lately we have been going out in the early evenings then coming back around 12pm  in thru the ship channel , under the bridges in to the ICW with out using GPS , doing it the old way , one person on the bow , calling the markers out and Nance at the helm steering , this gives us practice in our night vision [lights against the sky line ] hand signals , radio work , adjustments to shipping traffic on the icw and Houston ship channel , just trying to build great skill set to be expanded upon later when we leave in 4yr 1 month and 22days , Nance would rather just GPS it right on in

Folks how do you feel about practice ?

"Auto ascending setup is an interesting idea, though it takes a bit of fiddling around to get it right. Once it's dialed in, it actually works quite well."

"Michael, From experience over three keel boats a fully battened main is almost a requirement. Not only will it make dropping the sail into the boom bag far easier it certainly reduces any flogging and vastly lengthens the life of the sail. While…"
