SeaKnots

I have been researching various sailing designs and find both top load and traditional door access on coolers and freezers appealing.  I understand the versatility of both, but, would like some input from boat owners on which design was chosen and why...  As a novice chef, I can work with either one, I'm just looking for experience from the Captains and crew here.  Thank you in advance!

got mine by default--was once a fridge , engine driven, but after thieves,  is now a  cold box sans coldness.  i place heavy items inside to offset the  weight of the batteries  on other side of boat--until i  decide what i want to do as far as coldness for foods is concerned.

i need to  refit this area, and i am waiting to see what is most  cost effective when i am ready to  install something.

sorry about the inconvenience and invasion of property...  the battery storage and compensation was another topic for another day as well.  What have you considered given the fact you have to refit that area?

"Auto ascending setup is an interesting idea, though it takes a bit of fiddling around to get it right. Once it's dialed in, it actually works quite well."

"Michael, From experience over three keel boats a fully battened main is almost a requirement. Not only will it make dropping the sail into the boom bag far easier it certainly reduces any flogging and vastly lengthens the life of the sail. While…"
