We are currently sailing a Hunter 33 and find it to be just a little too tight for our liking. We are interested in the Island Packet SP Cruiser because of all the legroom it offers but find it to be a bit pricey for us. Does any other manufacturer build a "sailing trawler"?

Go to Yachtworld.com and type in "motorsailer"

Off the top of my head, Nauticat makes a few and Shuckerman

There a several. I'd guess that if you went to www.Yachtworld.com and entered "Motorsailer as a keyword, you'd have lots of hits.
Wow, great idea Larry.....lol.

Bill,
I'm not sure if your comment is sincere, or if you're just being catty. Either way, it works.
Bill, apologies. I just read your post and your suggestion to go to yachtworld....I missed that. Sorry.
No worries Larry. Obviously you hadn't read above and it just struck me funny that you had pretty much the same idea. Also, woman can be catty, men are usually assholes. lol.

It was late, catty was the only word that came to mind. Lol. Thanks for understanding.

Mike & Julie,

The term Deck Saloon is a good one to describe what you want. Until all boats call their model Deck Saloon as a way to describe luxury or big windows.

The true DS should have an elevated sitting area, with an all round view.

Try to search for Nordship and Degerro Yachts. Some Contest Yachts are true DS. Jeanneau is not.

Nauticat is the well known brand. Similar the the others I mentioned.

My dream boat too.

After sailing the Malo I know all boats are not made the same.

Another I left out is the Regina Yachts.

3 Scandinavian and 1 Dutch.

Good Luck in your search.
