From Land to Sea

How did you transition? Did you sell your house? Did you sell your possessions?

I can sure use help with this. My retirement date is set for Dec. 20.

Anther two weeks or so

And, what have I accomplished? First, and perhaps most importantly I have a realistic view of my finances. Second, I have a serious concern about my boat's seaworthiness. Third, I am overcome with sentimentality. Fourth, I am emerging into those feelings that accompany the Grateful Dead's bemoan, "I Could Be Going to Hell,,,," Fifth, same ol' same ol.

Being precise with my expenditures is critical. For the past 23 months I have lived in ignorance. Not in the sense of being too stupid…

easy morning

Even though I go to bed at a reasonable hour, normally 9:00 P.M. and rarely latter then 10:00, I’ve been waking up at 3:45 or so recently.  I try to get back to sleep, sometimes with success, however this morning it was not the case.  My cat, Pixie, likes the company and an early breakfast for her, but I’m not a happy camper when sleep is short changed.  At any rate, I got busy cleaning the galley up, which meant doing…

Ice Alert!

Not quite yet but will be pulling the CAL this weekend as the harbor comes out Oct 15. Tough to be leaving the Big Seawater but we will be back in in May,hopefully with the Morgan 300. My storage facility"the Port of Rock Falls" is already filling with sport boats and pontoons from the inland lakes for winter storage, even though the fall folage this year is remarkably colorful--sorry you warm weather folks can'tenjoy.
