I have a 43. Mounted the flat screen (Sharp Aquos) on the bulkhead over the dorward seat in the dinnete. Through mount, drilling a larger hole in the head for the washer and nut to seat firmly agains the wood structure and not cause warping / cracking of the shower wall liner. Added a chase made from white starboard material to hide the wires.
Sam, do you have any pictures of the through mount on the head side? I know the guy who installed Franc's TV and he didn't run the hardware through the wall. (see the pictures in this thread) Next time I see him I'm going to ask how he mounted the TV bracket. I plan on using a handicap grab bar and run the wires inside of it. I bought a 32" Samsung and will mount it on the STBD side of the forward bulkhead.

You should consider this approach:

Mike, I finally took some pictures of LONGHAWK B 43, Hull #9 this weekend. I have some shots of the TV installation and afew others. I will try to load them thisPM.
i added a photo. Now trying to get it on this group. "1965" is the title it shows the chase added in the head to hide the wiring. I added a110 v outlet in the upper shelf behind the mirror and use a simple rabbit ear style digital a

ntenna. works well

My problem is that I ordered the 40 oceanis with 2 cabines.
So in the front, there is no bathroom.
On our 40 we mounted the TV on the wall through to the clothes locker in the front berth. I just paced a piece of plywood against the wall in side the locker and drilled into that, it held through last season and we're remounting the TV this weekend!
Thank you, do have any pictures ?
Alain, I posted some pictures of how I mounted the TV on our 43. They should be in my pictures. I'm not sure what differences there are between the 40 and 43. I think you have a locker where my forward head is. That may make it easier to install the TV. Let me know if you have questions.
Mike
Sam, thanks for the pictures. I hadn't thought of using a white strip the way you did or of putting the outlet in the cabinet. Hmmmm more to think about before I install mine.
How thick is the wall, where you have fixed the TV
Alain, the wall appears to be the same thickness as the cabin door. Plenty thick enough to mount a bracket to hold the TV. We bought a 32" flat screen for the boat but I have not mounted it yet. This past weekend I installed most the wiring for the cable TV signal. I still need to drill a hole in the boat under the shore power outlets and mount the TV cable outlet. This weekend I will do that plus install the wire to power the TV. I'm going to wait until the boat is in the water to mount the TV. Hopefully that will be within the next 2 weeks.
