All knowing list, I need your help and advice.
I have a water leak that I am now certain originates at the aft water tank. It is not the common leak at the screw-on inspection port. I beleive it is either a hose / connection or a crack with leak on the tank. I see water on the inboard forward edge where the tank sits and in the battery compartment. I filled the tank and found several quarts of water in the battery compartment (behind the switches in the aft cabin).
Anyone experienced a crack tank or/????
Thanks.

Sam, I had mine replaced a couple of years ago for the same reason. It's a known issue.

Thanks for the info. Beneteau provided a tank and shipped it to me en-route as I was cruising. I changed it out myself. A bit of a chore, but all in all, not too bad.
It was indeed cracked.
Thanks guys.

Hello Sam,
This is interesting and it will have me inspect the tanks next week. Would you have a picture and/or more détails on the location and mechanism of the crack.
Since the diesel tanks are made by the same OEM has anyone had or heard of cracks in the diesel tanks ?
Thanks
Denis
I too had a crack in the aft water tank after three years on my B40. The crack extended almost the full length of the depression in the top of the tank in which the steel tube sits that is used to locate the tank.
Beneteau (in Europe) were completely uninterested and declined to replace the tank despite the fact that the failure was clearly one of either design or manufacture. The dealer paid for the replacement tank and I paid the cost of shipping the new tank from France to the Eastern Med. I have not heard of a fuel tank failure.
