On Tuesday, we`ll move in !
At the end of July, Beneteau service world wide will come and fix every thing ...
I am curious how :-) !

Next week I have to modifies the locker to fit the washing machine in. For that I need 220V and a water tube from the kitchen. I am just thinking to do an other hole for the water evacuation ...
Hey that's good news! I am curious how they fix the wood scratches... can you let us know what they use? We have a few that we caused and would love to fix them.

I love the blue hull-it looks sharp! Congrats and best of luck having the washing machine installed. Where are you installing it on the boat?
the 2 cabine version have a deep ( strange , because there is also an window in ) locker
Yes, now I have one of these ...

This is a * carad MB 40 TR *
The Benetau service fixed all wood problems! Also they noticed that our AC was not well mounted and some other small problems.

Now we have done 863 Nm in 5 weeks and had/have some new problems.

Our darkwater tank had an small hole on the bottom and slowly the bilge under the Shower/WC was filled with ....
From the beginning on, I noticed that bad smell but Beneteau told me that this is normal when the sun is shining the hole day on the blue hull .... We was in Corfu ( 400sm away from our Homeport ) when I noticed dark and stinky water in a small corner where the boiler is sitting. The only place where you can see in that bilge under the shower with no other communication to the other bilges ( unless this one is so full and is swaping over ).

Beneteau has send me a new tank to Corfu in Grease, after we was stucked there for 5 days without any WC. Luckily as we are, Beneteau send us the wrong Tank, so that the local service point had to improvise and repared the old one with the new parts.

This bilge is really hard to clean :-( when it is full of ... and stinking ...

4 Days later we noticed that now the tank repared, some tubes are still leaking in that Bilge. Now I hope that they can fix every thing here on our homeport because I am becoming really agressive by the time with all the other problems I gonna mention.

Our chart plotter C120 show an other chart than the radar ( some times more than 4 miles of differnce and even other coastlines ) No way to check where the problem is. All resets where unseccessfull! The radar plot is right and the intern and even the card charts are totally out of reallity.

3 days ago I saw that our bilge pump is no more working After I analysed the problem I saw that the fuse on the electric panel is missing. I still can not imagine how a fuse can disapear ...

In the same night our boat became dark on her backside. The bulb was broken and the replacemnt bulb in the Beneteau first aid set was not the right one. Really nice to discover such things by 26 knots of wind and high waves.

Last night, our Vhf antenne was more and more waving and endet this morning in an horizontal position ( without funktion!)

Now I will sleep a few hours and contact Beneteau again ...

Pictures of our trip and of all the problems will be posted in a few days ...

Greeting from the Nord Adreatic sea

PS: Before I forget it..., the 40 is really easy to sail in strong conditions :-)
Glad to hear they fixed the woowork but sorry to hear you're having other problems. Yes the bilge is dificult to clean. I cannot imagine having black water in there. You'll need to wash it with a lot of dissenfectant. Something to try on the C120 to fix you position error. Make sure the "Datum" setting in the C120 matches your chart. The "Datum" is the reference point the chart maker uses when they build the chart. If it does not match the C120 setting it can show you in the wrong position. Good luck with the repairs and keep us informed.
Hello,

I hope you had a good sailing despite the smelly leaks. A company called MATCHEM sells very good products to clean and deodorise boats.

Could you send pictures and explanation about the Paguro genset ?

The factory installed RULE 1100 automatic bilge pump failed. I found pieces of plastic in the rotor. So I will change this item soon for the same or an upgrade if I find one that takes the same wire diameter < 10A.

Has someone experienced the broken plastic of the bilge pump ?

Good luck with Beneteau.

Hi Denis

I can send/poste pictures next week when I am home ( in the moment I am on py cellphone)

The Paguro ( by the way, the manufacter Paguro is 5km from my boat away, if you need any spear parts later just tell me ) is mounted in the box under the stearing seat. There was a platform in the corner, that came orginaly from Beneteau. They have dine a new waterinlet behind the engine.and a outlet in the hull.

The technicians here mounted it on it because this place seemed ideal for this. After the installation, the checked several times all the connections because the Gen. did not work. There was no cooling water that came out the tube. After many tryes, ( 3 days long ! ) the found the problem, writen on page 3 of the manual :-)
The Gen has to be mounted under the waterline. The place where they mounted it is a half meter over the water line.

After several tryes and phonecall with Paguro they changed the orginally wireing.
The orginal wiring is: waterinlet, inverter, waterpump, gen- engine, wateroutlet

The new wireing is:
Waterinlet, waterpump,inverter, gen-engine,wateroutlet

This work fine when you use you Gen several times a day.
If not, you have to fill some water in the waterfilter before you start it, to create a vacum

now they are thinking about a new solution with a aditional Pump because I refuse to put water every time in the filter when I need to start my Gen. I have tryed it in wavy conditions and it was not so funny .

The noise of the Paguro mounted in that place is really low ... ( less than your engine )...

i WILL KEEP YOU UP TO DATE
Hello,

Thank you for these details about the installation that will be very useful. For the moment I have a Mastervolt regulated alpha pro alternator. I am not sure it is giving all the amps it could at low rev (1200 - 1600 rpm). Changing the battery system for x4 150AH slimline AGM mastervolt that fit exactly where the 2x 140AH wet cell batteries were installed by Beneteau has changed our life at anchorage. In the West Med this is the way we pass most of the nights. Our batteries have never got lower than 75%.! When we have shore electricity the Mass Combi 100/2500 charger inverter works very well and fast to recharge the batteries. The alternator is much longer in particular when we use the watermaker Dessalator D60.

By the way Beneteau came to fix preventively the rudder tube support.

Have a nice day.

And the problems goes on ...

Today ( we had windy conditions about 37knots ) I had to use my bowtruster.
After the second short *brrrrr* *brrrrr* it failed to work.
Late in the afternoon my service-friend found out that the security plug has burned.
Do you already had the same problem ?
Hi,

No the bowthruster Max power works well. The security switch has never tripped. (The winlass one can trip if you go up and then down or vs to quickly)

You should dive and see if the propeller can turn freely. This would be the first thing to check.I have heard of tunnel delaminated by a little piece of fiberglass that got pulled by the rotor. The fuse is probably very high amp (50 or 100A) check it is in accordance with the installation manual.

Hope this helps. I probably have a Max power manual somewhere if you don't.

Good luck.

Denis.
