I'm in Watergate - but, survived w/o damage - thank goodness!!! I work with a sailing & rowing club there that was demolished. That whole area by the office was soooo sad to see and work around in the weeks following. Glad you did well in the regatta. I drove down, A friend, who is also in Waterford, was in it. Perhaps see you soon.

Which marina are you in? Survive Ike? Did you sail in the Harvest Moon Regatta?

She sure is a fine looking ship...I felt silly asking the question once I perused the other pics you had on your site, whereby I realized it was indeed America...thx for the reply!

Is that the Elissa in the pics above?? I always wondered what its like to sail on a vessel of that accord ...we had a guy down at our club here a few years back by the name of Curtis Collins that crewed regularly aboard the Elissa. I bet that Formosa of yours is a beauty! My wife and I currently reside aboard a Columbia 10.7 & we love her ..even though she gets tempermental & things break from time to time...such as the way of boats though !

Mike Brown replied to Larry Witty's discussion B43 Windlass Drainage in the group Beneteau 40 & 43
"Sounds like you need to give that windlass some TLC. I used to clean and apply a light coating of grease to all the surfaces in and under the gypsy. It remained smooth over a 10 year period. Five of those years were spent cruising full time on the…"

B43 Windlass Drainage

Doing some maintenance on my B43 Quick Antares windlass this year. After removing the windlass, I knew instantly that I should have been doing this at least ever other year.  The windlass was preforming weak and slow with a noise which made me think the motor brushes or a bearing was going out, thus the reason for removing it.What I found upon removal was a tremendous amount of salt and sand on the top part of the gearbox, literally packed in. Upon cleaning everything up, luckily all bearings…See More
