Am aspiring sailor. Wish to make 'homeport' in general, the Grenadines and the BVI
About Me:
Older, educated guy here - artist and photographer. Am in the process of scrapping everything and inventing a whole new life in the Caribbean. In the past have lived in various parts of the region - St. Vincent, Bequia, Virgin Gorda, and in the Western Carribean, Providencia, Co.. While i have adequate funds for life there, these do not meet requirements for permanent residency in the Eastern Caribbean. So my plan for the moment is to spend six months in the Grenadines, six months in the BVI. While it is less than perfect, this admirable mobility will overcome the 'same old, same old' factor. Of course, mating for a live-on skipper, or care-taking a yacht year-round would accomplish the same end. In fact, should i stumble onto the right situation, it is not impossible seagoing could become a continuing way-of-life. Email: seize_freedom@yahoo.com.
Current location:
Mountains of Arkansas
Destinations visited:
Jamaica, St. Thomas, St. John, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, St. Vincent, Bequia, Trinidad, Venezuela, Panama, Providencia, Co., Ambergris Cay, Belize
Looking to:
Looking to hook-up with a live-on skipper in need of a ship mate and some genial company. Otherwise, will be seeking yachtsmen for deckhand work, allowing me to bum about the caribbean at will. Right or wrong, the most southerly Windwards seem the least punished by hurricanes of the eastern islands. So i expect to spend June - Dec. in the Grenadines, Dec - June in the BVI. Email me at: seize_freedom@yahoo.com.
Should i find the right man, would be amenable to a fulltime seagoing life.

In 1984, after my second divorce, I decided I needed a vacation. I went to St Croix for a learn-to sail charter. It was an epiphany. At 36, I discovered that I was born a sailor. I swore to myself that someday I would return in my own boat. It took me twenty years and two boats to do it.
Hi Tom,
Thanks for the 'welcome'. This is the first time I've corresponded here.
Do you have a captain's license? That would be a big advantage to getting a position on a yacht.
Your photos are very vivid. You must be a Photoshop wizard.
I've posted a photo of different drummer on my page.
haha Thanks Tom! But right now there's no raging happening....rather a lot of laughter as I wonder what have I gotten myself into! My boat Lizzie needs lots of TLC and elbow grease, but she and I are working together and making progress little by little. As Lola commented, the photos on your page are beautiful. Happy sailing this weekend!
"Wayne, yes I'm still out here. She's looking good and you'll love her. The 38.1 is a perfect size for 2 people with occasional guest (s). Plus she's a sweet sailing boat. I'll attach a short video of one I was delivering…"
"Sam, I am just in the process of replacing both of my eyebrow windows. I have the new ones from Beneteau and am talking with dealer in Florida re Bebeteaus advice. It would be helpful to talk to you about your experience. I have never seen…"
Good morning gang,I have received both port and starboard cabin windows from Beneteau for replacement as the existing leak and are badly etched. Beneteau has referred me to the dealership for installation but I'm having trouble getting a response. Does anyone have any experience replacing these and any recommendations. JohnSee More
"Hello Randy,
New to the group, going through the posts, I have come upon this thread. I was considering tinting my windows of my Beneteau 43 with a darker tint, but I really like your idea. So I will copy with…"
