Thanks. It actually looks better in the pics though. It's a bit rough in spots but I'm slowly getting it back in shape. As for the boom travel, yes if not cleated (and if the vang/topping lift allow) it will travel up to the point where the sail slides come out. I don't know enough about using a vang to make use of it so I have it cleated all the way down. I also have a small cam cleat there which I assume is for a cunningham.
I have a 1975 O'Day 25 and mine has a cleat just above the boom vang that allows you to cleat a line from the gooseneck. I don't have any pics handy right now but I'll try to get some.

"I had to replace my sheeve on both sides and really struggled to get the bolts out. Once I had them out, each was bent thus the challenge. I ended up stripping one or two of the hex bolts and used an angle grinder to square off the head of the bolt…"
The starboard side of my Traveller is starting to lift up. I am guessing to remove the center 5mm Allen bolt that goes through the middle of the sheeves, although I cannot get it to budge, to access it. Does anyone have any experience with this??Thanks Dave B43 Shore's AdriftSee More
