On the Waterside is a web site I just created, to chonicle a voyage around my home, Long Island off of New York City. As a retired high school English and Film teacher, I felt it was time I learned about my home waters, the East End, the Hamptons and Montauk. Daily I will post blogs, weekly there will be video of my adventures, monthly I will explore the mansions, harbors, islands and bays that dot the Great South Bay, the peconic, the Sound and the Atlantic.

I just went onto your site and read your latest blog. Pretty true to life. I laughed when I got to the part when you compared the Great South Bay to the LIE! I have been stuck in that traffic one too many times. (LIE). So much so that when we go out to LI to visit my family, we go by boat now.
Hey, I noticed your picture of the Jones beach amphitheater with all of the boats anchored in front of it. How does that work? We have a 5.5 foot draft, would we be able to join in the festivities or is our keel to deep? It looks like so much fun! Let me know and welcome to SeaKnots!
