Dean and Katie,
It's on the south side of the Benjamins. When we anchored there we knew that the next days would bring southern winds that would blow right into this bay.. Our friend loves this spot and didn't want to leave it. " Let's wait it out , we're on sand" he commented. Sure enough , it started blowing in and, instead of moving to a sheltered bay , we spent the night bobbing in the surf.. LOL Still, we had a good time.
Hey ,friends,
I have a swing keel which I can pull up with a steel cable. With the keel down I draw 5 feet [cast iron keel , 800 pounds] when the keel is pulled up I draw 2 1/2 feet.. This photo was taken at the North Channel of Lake Huron. The boat in front belongs to my friend , the boat in the back ground is my boat, Karma.
We pull our rudder way up, also the engine, and get pretty close to land, as you can see.
