One of our friends fell face first on the ironshore on Raccoon Cay in the Bahamas.  The ground is so uneven that even though she thrust her hands out her face smacked part of the rocky surface.  She received a 2 inch gash down her check among other less serious cuts.

By dumb luck we were passing by in the dinghy when her husband brought her stumbling out to the beach.  We picked her up and took her out to our friends Bob's boat.  He's a retired surgeon and by happenstance another boat in the anchorage was owned by a husband and wife team of ER doctors.  They came straight over and Bob sewed her up.

She was horribly bruised with a half paralyzed swollen smile but after 3 months she healed up and you can't tell she ever had the accident.  Lucky girl....
