The bleed is a slightly larger margin applied to the edge of every page to ensure the page can be trimmed to the final size. For most common printers, bleed is 0.125" on all sides of the page. As long as your document size and bleed zones are correctly set up there is only one more step. Select the "Marks and Bleeds" tab (highlighted in blue). 1) Check the Crop Marks Box in the Marks section (leave the rest unchecked). 2) In the Bleed and Slug section un-check Use Document Bleed Settings and set all four sides to 0.125 in Open the MS Word file you want to add an image background to. Use the drop-down format tab to find the .pdf file type. Type in the desired file name and press Save. This will convert your document and open it in Adobe Reader . Often times customers will submit a design without full bleed (for instance, 8.5″ x 11″) which needs to be redesigned for full bleed as an 8.75″ x 11.25″ design. The quick fix that customers most often do is expand the document so it fits to 8.75 x 11.25."
