Nice to hear you get whales out there too (that must be pretty close in I guess).

This one was either a Sei or a Brydes (very hard to tell the difference) but probably a Brydes as they are known to be more coastal.

I see from the "distribution" map that they both hang out up your way too.

wow thats great! i remember the first time i saw a whale close to the boat.....it was the first time that i sailed to catalina alone, i was feeling so brave, all alone no one in sight, i took of my top, then i heard the spray, wasn't sure what that was then right up along side of my 27 ft ft boat was a whale about the lenght of the boat, i ran for my shirt.
