The "NANTUCKET LIGHTSHIP" LV-112 , Has recently been Rescued by a MUSEUM Group dedicated to her Historical Preservation.
The NANTUCKET LIGHTSHIP LV-112 got underway this past weekend and was towed from Austoria, NY, to BOSTON, MASS.
She was on display for a few days at Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston, Mass.
She is now at her permanent berth in East Boston, were she will undergo preservation work performed by volunteers. Her Museum Officers are trying to
raise money for a trip to the Drydock which may be pricy , but She is hopefull
of getting some grant money via politicos.
I feel very Strongly about Historical Ship Preservation and have a Burning in my Gut to help Her, and accordingly will sail this summer to spend some time with her to Evaluatre and Repair Her Machinery.
The "NANTUCKET LV-112" is the most Historic and the,Largest of the Lihhtships.and I feel (Not only as a Coastie, But as a SAILOR) that there is a need to preserve our Marine History and our Marine Heratige,
I would ask all of you that consider yourself SAILORS to please Help Her to Survive as an Operational Piece of Our Marine History and Heratige to Educate
new generations of Maratime Students and Enthusiasts.
Please consider Help[ing her by Volunteering or contributing in a way that is within your capability, as She EARNED our Support.( THE NANTUCKET HAS A WEBSITE).

The Pride of Baltimore was an authentic reproduction of a 19th century Baltimore clipper topsail schooner commissioned by citizens of Baltimore, Maryland. It was lost at sea with four of its twelve crew on May 14, 1986. The Pride of Baltimore II, a replica vessel of more modern design commissioned to replace the Pride in 1988, now sails as a Goodwill Ambassador from Baltimore and the State of Maryland.
