teleflex engine control problems

I am having problems with my Teleflex engine control. It works fine controlling the throttle, mooves smoothly.  But when the tranny is engaged the lever is very hard to move past 10:00 inf orwrd, or 2:00 in reverse.  Once it passes that point it moves smoothly.   And going from forwrd to reverse is especially difficult.  

I have a 2012 B40 with a Yanmar 53hp diesel.

Any ideas?
