SeaKnots

Hello,

Here are some measures. This in an increase of arond a knot or for the same cruising speed 500 rpm less.

I will try to get also the diesel consumption.

I have noticed an improvement in motorsailing upwind speed also.

Docking is about the same as with the fixed Radice prop. May be a little more effective backwards and higher idling engaged speed.

Overall I feel this is a positive improvement.

Wind at 90° < 5knots calm sea dodger and hull clean. Propspeed on propeller. SOG by GPS on both ways.

Idle750/min 4knts
1000/min 5,1 knts
1200/min 5,8
1400/min 6,5
1600/min 7,1
1800/min 7,5
2000/min 7,8
2200/min 8,1
2400/min 8,2
2600/min 8,4
2800/min 8,6
3000/min 8,7 maxi 2950/min

I think this can be helpful for those who had the same hesitations.

We also carry on board on a dedicated fixation the fixed prop ready for replacement in case of failure.

Good sailing to all.

Thanks for sharing this Denis.

7,8 at 2000 rpm it's a vey good improvement. Sure consumption data will show an interesting improvement as well.

Saludos.
