We are in planning stages for outfitting our new B40, hull # 247. Will have lots of questions as this process continues. Here are 3:

1.Cabinet Storage.  Preparing to move our stuff into our new B40, we noticed that while there are many storage cabinets, the shape of the cabinets seem less than ideal. On our old B361, the cabinet doors had vertical hinges, rather than the drop down style of the B40, but more importantly, each cabinet had an interior shelf with a fiddle, so you could utilize the full height.  Has anyone added interior shelving on B40 or B43 cabinets?

2.Windlass control. The electrical connection in the anchor well for the windlass control is set somewhat deep inside the anchor well. On our 361 the plug is near the top rear part of the anchor well, less likely to get wet or damaged. Has anyone had a problem with this? Do folks keep the control plugged in and secured in the bracket in the well? or remove it and keep it in the cabin when not in use?

3. Anchor washdown pump.  I'd like to add an anchor washdown pump because the bottom where we sail--primarily LI Sound-- is muddy.  The dealer did not have any good ideas as to how to do this. Any suggestions?

More questions to come....

One of our winter jobs this year is to put shelves in most of the cupboards on our 43
My B40 came with 1 shelf only in the cabinet under the galley counter. I removed it and added sliding drawers. The drawers came from Ikea, 10" wide. The door now attaches to the lower drawer and I added a sliding latch at the bottom for support underway. If I can figure out how to add a pic I'll send some.

"Hi All, french built 2010 43 has been very dry down below but now a slow leak has occurred which is showing at the limber holes under the floor board in forward cabin. Bilge pump goes every 3hrs for 20secs. Not sure if it’s fresh/rain water or…"
