Hello,

I have just joined your group. I have an OCEANIS 43 hull n° 77 built in France. Hibernia is in the Med Coast of Spain.

I would like to exchange topics with all of you.

Hi here are some pictures of the work done on Hibernia.

I am also interested in B43 who improved the electricity production.

Our approach to electricity has been three fold:

- large battery bank (705Ah)
- high output alternator (110A)
- one solar panel (195W)

Thanks to that we now can be at anchor or days ailing for 3-4 days without using the engine and quickly recharge anytime we motor.

What kind of solar panels do you have, Denis?
I love the way you fixed your Tender
we are installing an diesel generator Paguro 300
hello,

For the moment I have no solar panels, I was thinking of two Kyocera 130W panels but have not ordered them yet. Do you have any suggestions ?

The Mastervolt 90A three step alternator with alpha pro was not easy to install because aof the waterpump shaft housing which did not allow double drive belts. How did you put a 110A alternator?

I would be interested by the pictures of the Paguro 3000 in the Oceanis 43.

Have a good day and pleasant cruise across the pond.

Denis
As soon i have my boat, you`ll get pictures of the Paguro 3000 in the Oceanis 40 (!!)
I hear Kyocera 130s are great. We installed a 195W Evergreen over the sprayhood and we're very happy with it but if I had an arch like you I would try to fit two of them there. Get as many watts as you can fit!

The alternator is a standard kit with a regulator made by Balmar (70-YP-MC-110-KIT):

I even considered the dual alternators this guy makes in New Zealand but didn't have time to install and test before leaving: http://www.yachtwork.com/alternator.html

I have 2- 140watt Kyocera solar panels, 2- 198 ah AGM house batteries, and stock Mitsubishi 80amp alternator. We sit on moorings for 7 days at a time without needing to run engine with refrig, freezer, computers etc. Our's are installed over bimini widthwise. Install as much solar as you are comfortable with. Trust me, you will not be disappointed if they are installed properly.

James

Welcome to the 40/43 forum. We have hull #001 built in the US. I think you'll love the boat.
