SeaKnots

Hello all- I'm putting together a photo collection of "Emergency repairs
made at sea" mostly from photos I have collected along the way. The
page can be found here-

http://www.yachtwork.com/report-broken-gear.htm

I'm looking for some more tricks, and photos of "repairs made at sea" to
help build the collection. Any help, photos, stories, or ideas would be
appreciated.

Thanks

Scott in Tahiti

This is a GREAT POST. I went to the site. The photos really help to understand the problems. Good job. I hope others post here.
Hows this? A sail slug at the foot of my mainsail made from three Bahamanian dimes.

Cool site. I like the thru hull advise in the first one.

The more you use your boat, the more things happen out there...
Here's a more interesting photo of an at-sea "incident". What looked like a scratch may've been a hairline crack, which totally broke on a stormy open ocean crossing. The field repairs were done once my boat was in safe harbor! The flat strips are anodized aluminum stock that I like to keep laying around and that sure came in handy. (can't wait to replace that ugly hatch though- looks like Frankenstein's)

Wait to you see what they charge for acrylic hatch material, your patch will begin to look beautiful!
