How did you name your boat? I am always curious about how people name their boat and if there is a story behind it. After seeing all of the names on this site, I am looking forward to hearing the stories...So, If you have a boat how did you come up with the name?

We were already thinking along the lines of a name that included the moon, Bella Luna for example. We were returning her from the fall boat show and stopped with the rest of the boats for the evening. While getting ready to head to dinner we received word all the financing was approved. (due to the finacing debacle it was a rather stressful time) Looking up we realized we were under a full moon, figured it was an omen and settled on the name "October Moon". We were married in October and enojoyed the birth of our youngest daughter so it's a great month and name for us.

Mine was simple...the best book I ever read and started me on this boat venture. AN ISLAND TO ONESELF...see web page on my description.
This is the lettering that will go on soon.

After many years of working all the time, I finally realized that cell phones are for the dock. So I named my 272LE "Knot@Work"

Our first bluewater boat had her name changed by her second owner, from Blessed to Lost Citizen. She was abandoned when we found her. We renamed her Symphony and had great adventures with her sailing around the north Atlantic.

A friend of ours is a plumber. They named their boat "On a Call" .
That way she could honestly say he was out "on a call" when someone wanted work done on the weekend.

Mine is an Aquarius so the name StarShine was a given to this old "flower child".

The parts quote was approx $930. That plus some shipping and some extra hardware (mounting screws, blocks etc.).
