SeaKnots

I called my agent and I was told, during Hurricane it has to be out of the water.

If left in the water, they pay for your damages, however your Deducible is 5 % of your total value listed on the boat more per year.

How is yours?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I'm with NATIONWIDE with 3 vehicles too.

Let us hear how your Ins. works
Over many-many years, I've been with Boat/US, Sea Horse Marine and Progressive. None of them require the boat to be out of the water. Nationwide must be nuts, thinking they can insure large, keel-boats and expect that they may be moored somewhere next to a travel lift. Don't those idiots understand that a blue water boat will do better in the water than out???? Down here in hurricane alley, the Texas and Florida Gulf Coast, there would be no possible way to haul the thousands of boats that are down here - so no such requirements. If Nationwide is going to be this ignorant about keel-boats, they should stick to insuring houses, cars and bass boats on trailers. But for the moment, they have insured keel-boats and they should either reimburse you for putting your boat on the hard, or back off on a ridiculous requirement.
Call your agent back and relate this to him/her - feel free to forward my email to him if you wish.
That's one I've not heard before. I'm not a fan of Nationwide. Nothing but heartaches for a homeowner claim. I'm with Zurich and there is no such clause in my policy. They have a policy specifically designed for liveaboards. Hanna was pretty much a non-event here in Annapolis. Just a few gusts in the low 30's. Hope you faired as well.
