Need to buy a dinghy - Have you heard of Delphinus or Saturn?

We are not sure which dingy to get. We'd like to get a new one and of course not spend that much on it. We started with West Marine and found a 4 person dinghy for $1300. Now after some more research, I found some that are much cheaper but I am not sure about their performance or if there are better deals out there.

I found this one from Delphinus that is 9'6" and basically $850.

I also saw this one by Saturn for the $840.

Does anyone have feedback on these brands and their performance? Any other suggestions for this price range staying with a similar size?

Let me know!

Thanks-

Are you looking at Hypalon or PVC material? The former is more expensive, but longer lasting. Also, your intended use and how you will transport (towing, davits, on deck) will have a bearing on what dinghy to choose.

I know if I buy a new dinghy, I intend to get a Rigid Inflatable with a good sized motor.
Both models are PVC
Did you ever make a decision? I have been looking at both of them with interest (Im not in the market for at least a year) but after talking with a friend of mine with a Hypalon dink and the problems he has had with minor repair PVC seems to be a better option
We are still doing some research. With boat show season upon us, I would like to see what I am buying - and get a great deal. We'll see. Then when that's done, we need to name it! lol

Don't know if this might interest you, but I built a folding dingy and love it.
Will hold 2 people and rows like a champ.
Can use up to 5hp, but I like quite.
Stable enough to stand in, and I used clear, so I can see down to the bottom of the water (if water is clear).
Light (supposed to be around 24pds, but I ended up 50pds).
Still nice and easy to carry and stow away.
If you would like pictures just let me know.
Would love to see pics!
