Me and some friends had the Profurl unity bearings broken. Note the pictures attached showing the entire set raised on the stay. Still works fine, and Beneteau says bad use, but I'm curious to know if you heard anything about it.

how could anyone possibly misuse the furling drum?????
Good question Franc. Can't imagine anything but equipment (furler drum) failure causing it.
We're investigating, but Profurl has already recognized the issue and sent a new drum without any major question other than praxis. I'm really satisfied with Profurl standing behind their product. Just Beneteau disagree and say will not pay for labor to refit. We're suspecting the unity is robust but mounting plate under the drum didn't have enough room to allow for the stay longitudinal play. If you leave your sail flacking hard on strong winds, shaking the furler, if you winch the furler line not noticing any strange resistance, if you go hard upwind without proper forestay tension, all of these could be misuse and damage sail, drum, plate attachment, or the aluminum profile. I don't think neither of those happened when we crossed the Atlantic. Let's see how it develops .....
