Hey I am wondering how many out there that are actually have cruised or are cruising take a long a cruising spinnaker. Is it worth the added storage space it takes up. I only have a main and 150 Genny. I have a cruising spinnaker but was curious if it should be stored, as it is a large bundle.

We don't have a spinnaker. There have been times when I'd have loved to have one but we just can't justify the space.

What I do recommend is being set up to pole out that big ole' genoa. We also have a large genoa and when its strung out with the pole and the mains set up wing and wing with a preventer we're good to go.

Get one..... it is soooooo fun and beautiful ......asymetrical... a hybrid is even better... I bet you could get a good deal on a used one. We don't need a pole on the cat, Vision, but most of the time you do on a monohull. I hear what Bill says and wing and wing is wonderful BUT... after not using one for years, I LOVE it.... makes my heart soar.... LOL... but that's me. If you get one of those space bags, the sail would take up less room. It's the pole that's more of a pain, I think. But the pole is worthwhile for the genoa as well.
Ah good idea Suky.I have a cruising chute that is like new, but the space bag idea is a very good idea for storage. Will have to check into that.
