Black water in the head

Hey Folks

Anyone ever have any problems with black water returning to the head?

Im thinking there must be a damaged check valve some where in line.

Hola ALL! Been awhile!

Been a long LONG time since we dropped on to our page here at Seaknots ....but I CAN say that our boat is back together with mast, new stanchions, new bottom job, & other various needed replacements and is nearly ready to sail the waters here once more! It only took 8 LONG years eh? who knows....maybe we will provide some more updates here soon...

Beneteau 43 two cabin slip covers

We are taking out cat Genny to the Bahamas this year and I am fearful of the beautiful white leatherette salon cushions.  If anyone has had cushions made could you please give us a name of the maker.  We can make them ourselves if we had the dimensions but would be happy if there was a custom supplier.  The boat is in the Abacos and we are in Halifax so we can't go and measure.

Many thanks, John

No Place Like Home,,, or at least nearby

Ever the adventurous dreamer, I spent years ignoring one of the most beautiful sailing venues only a few miles from home. By car, it is about 4 hours from Indialantic, Florida and about two from Everglades City. By boat from Everglades City it took us four days. Consider that we meander at 5 - 7 knots during no wind days and that we are in no hurry. Stopping along…

Til Death due us Part

One never knows for certain if and when they will see another.  Life is a precious phenomenon. It has been said that living guarantees death. This is not to present a negative, depressing train of thought. Rather, it is meant to reiterate the sadness, guilt, and despair that can result when a loved one passes from the world of the living to a world the living knows little about.

Years ago I read a book. A question was posed. "What happens to a mind when a person dies. During…

Welcoming Self Back to Blogging

Before retirement there was always time to blog. Journaling and writing articles flowed from my fingers. Click-clacking across the keyboard, nearly as fast as my high school typing days breaking the speed/accuracy records of my classmates,  is how I whiled away sleepless nights. My…

Fixing things

P1020561.JPG

Chain plate nuts were hidden.  The hull was built then the chain plates attached.  Next came a 1" layer of foam and a couple of layers of glass which entombed the chain plate nuts.  To access these we drilled oversize holes in the inner skin and foam.  Then epoxied sections of glass tubing.  Several of the bolts were crevice corroded and twisted apart during their…
