One step forward, another one back

Yesterday my family and I were excited to make our first u-tube video together. Then, later in the day when I wanted to add another blog page with a picture as I had been doing the previous six days, the photo upload jammed. The little thing goes round and round indicating an upload is taking place, no photos appear, even after an hour.

So phooey on that. At least it isn't as costly or dangerous as the brand new Lewmar windlass is, but still I enjoy posting the pictures especially as… Continue

Begin with the end in mind...

Who hasn't heard this goal setting cliche? Come on, you know you have to decide what you want, so you will know it when it arrives. Of course you can always change your mind. And, so it is as I begin provisioning Spray for the next leg of her Sailing at Sixty adventure. Not as giddy and naive as when I left Palm Bay, Florida nearly one year ago, the fear of being alone has grown. I believe it was Tania Abei who reflected on her round the world adventure. The hardest part she said was… Continue

Holy Moly

Recovering from the shock of reality I am marinating in grief over my husband's death. About this time last year, I became enchanted with the prospect of having a mate. He is tall, with a thick head of hair. His smile is infectious and he told me what I wanted to hear. Oh, "how he wanted to learn to dance" he exclaimed as he put his arms around my waist as we sashayed across my kitchen floor. He has no children and was only married once some 20 years ago. His custom built sailboat is the type I… Continue
