Well Friday it is time to move the Tartan 27 from the slip to a mooring. Tired of paying slip fees at a marina that is way to unfriendly. I have my Cal on mooring also but will be looking to put in a slip or dock as time and money allows.
Still need a tranny for the Cal. Oh well I believe I will be spending more time with Cal and less with Tartan till the Tartan is sold or traded.

Marina and I drove down to the boat Thursday afternoon after I got off work. Arriving at the dock we loaded up a cart with our gear, food, and water and proceeded to our slip. Poor SPRAY, back on the hard after an innocent, albeit expensive, mishap about 1/4 of a mile outside her slip. It seems the safety line thrown out the day before was not retrieved before setting off to join the Melbourne Yacht Club's annual seafood raft up. Just as SPRAY headed into the wind for the hoisting of the main, that suddenly aburpt coming to a halt engine sound went burrplllllllllllup. To which I responded, "oh shaboom, something is…

Last Wednesday it was time to return to school for my final semester involved with traditional education. When the week-end finally arrived I was rewarded with 3 days of being surrounded with the best group of beach cat sailors around. Having sailed with some of these guys and gals since my debut way back in the summer of 1980, it was a bitter sweet reunion as life takes its toll on all. Its Afterall, the camraderie that exists amongst this group keeps the old spirits alive as friendships…

Boat withdrawal is painful. It has been two weeks since I spent time on Kittiwake and I must confess it was not comfortable at all. The heat and some medical concerns kept me at home worrying about how she was holding up during the severe thunder storms that were moving through the area. Thankfully Kittiwake is moored in a marina where fellow dock mates look out for each…
