Since I've become a sailboat owner and lover, I've begun to notice things that I didn't before.  I've started to notice anything that has a theme of boating or tropical living.  Therefore, about a year ago when I walked into the local liquor store to buy a bottle of wine, a particular…

Sailing Can Improve Your Health (full article)

Posted on January 26, 2011 at 11:30am 0 Comments

The health benefits of sailing vary for each person, but did you know that sailing can improve your health? According to Glamour.com, a 130 lb. woman can burn approximately 370 calories while sailing for two hours, and a 160 lb. man can burn 450 calories.

Sailing can also increase muscle strength and muscle endurance, which can help your body burn more calories, even at rest.… Continue

Hi Cheryl, Cypremort Point is on the Gulf Coast between Lafayatte and Morgan City, We recently upgraded from a 82 Oday30 to a 2000 Beneteau 321 bought it in Mandiville and motored it down the ICWW, what a trip, 3 locks and 16 bridges lifted! Have not decided where we want to go this summer besides a dive trip to the flower gardens.

"Sounds like you need to give that windlass some TLC. I used to clean and apply a light coating of grease to all the surfaces in and under the gypsy. It remained smooth over a 10 year period. Five of those years were spent cruising full time on the…"

B43 Windlass Drainage

Doing some maintenance on my B43 Quick Antares windlass this year. Upon cleaning everything up, luckily all bearings…See More
