- I'm an amateur builder since 2003. I have built 9 boats, including a 16' Otter from bateau.com, a 14' Power Skiff from Glen-L, 3 kidyaks from Glen-L, an NC-16 canoe and an 8' PK-78 from Bateau, among others. I have written a few articles for Messing About in Boats magazine, and won 3rd prize in the Boatbuilder Magazine Epiglass builder's challenge in 2007. I am writing a book on S & G composite construction with Jacques Mertens of Bateau.com.
