About Me:
Lived on Lake Michigan all my life. Started sailng with my dad on our Lightning at age 5, was proud owner of 8' sailing pram at age 8, and went through a plywood centerboard weekly cutting ice infront of club in winter. Dad sold Lightning at age 9 and bought Morgan 28. Learned to sail her solo on Lake Mich. at age 13. Dad got new Ericson 35-2 when I was 17, sailed her ever since, purchasing her 15 years ago when dad went to power. Racing days grew into just cruising, & have just cruised since. Live aboard summers now and love it. Sail mainly Lake Michigan. Raced/crewed Lightning, Morgan 28, Islander 37, Ericson 32, Ericson 35, Ericson 39, and finally spoiled by SV "Sliv" Nautor Swan 43 during my race years back when.
Lost my First Mate, Died 2/13/10 to a buterfly brain tumor.

Why are hubcaps less common on modern vehicles?

Hubcaps, which are attached directly to the wheel and rim assembly, are less frequently seen on modern vehicles. This shift is largely due to the adoption of wheels made from aluminum or metal alloys, which are less vulnerable to damage from salt, road chemicals, and harsh winter conditions compared to the previously common steel wheels.WheelCovers.Com prioritizes customer support and security to provide a seamless shopping experience.
