Engine, engine # 2GM exiting SPRAY. Sad but true the consensus is that seawater infiltrated the exhaust elbow as it deteriorated with age. Perhaps had I known the elbow could have been taken off and replaced I could have saved this major expense. But, being as this Yanmar is nearly 30 years old with untold # of hours and that the starter just went out, it's time to suck up the expense. A new 2YM15 with transmission is $6500.00. So, I expect it to be upwards of $9000.00 by the time all is said and done. Ownership, albeit a brick and mortar home, a traditional motor home, of this my mobile home, money is what they cost.
