And another one:

I am trying to source a sanitation hose or something equivalent to replace the smelly hose between the holding tank and plastic seacock. Unfortunately it's a large diameter hose (internal 60mm/ 2 3/8 inch?) and it seems no marine shop neither on-line nor on-land stocks such large diameter.

I know a Beneteau dealer would provide me one but their first-class price for freight (2/3 of the price of the hose!! from France to Austria, no tax incl.!!!) is just not justifiable for it.

I even found the manufacturer but after one email where they offered to send me some hose I never heard back from them. :(

I heard some people use wet exhaust hoses as they are easier available, do the same thing (odourless?) and come in large diameters.

Anyone tried hard PVC piping?

Again many thanks for thoughts-comments-...

Hard PVC is not safe and is not approved by the safety regulations. I had the same problem and had to order it from France. Installation is tricky: you have to remove the tank, fit the new tube into tank, heat and pre-bend it, install the tank with pipe trough the bulkhead, bend and cut, and fit it to the seacock. Then you have to remove the deck suction flange in order to replace the short suction hose.

Good luck!

thanks again for your reply. much appreciated. sounds like a bit of  mission but I guess we need to do it as the pipe really smells.

How long since you changed the pipe on your boat?

The two hoses you mentioned have probably been replaced more than 5 yrs ago, the hose to the bowl was changed 4 yrs ago. Somebody advised me to use seawater vaseline in the joints - easier to install and also remove next time. By the way, most likely the service hatch in septic tank is glued with silicon - no way to get in from there.
