SeaKnots

I have moved to a more exposed slip and am preparing my new heavy weather docklines. This prompted me to consider how well the cleats are reinforced. Has anyone added backing plates?

I think it is a very good idea.Mine are already loose after 2 years use in a very protected pen. Beneteau said they would deal with it but that was 18 months ago!!

Hello,

A routine before sailing season check showed the middle cleats are a little loose. This can be a leak source for rain or sea water.

To tighten them there is a small opening in the cabinets to acces the nuts (19mm). I will look at the plates and washers also.

Now i am on to a full nut tightening expedition.
