SeaKnots

This summer, we had a lot of problems with our bowtruster.
Every entering or leaving of a marina we burned a fuse.
All Croatian technician who came on board changed the fuse to a bigger one, that we burned short time.after. We noticed that this only happens when the 220V Land shore was not plugged, otherwise the system was ok.
Finally Beneteau changed our fuse to a really big on. :-)
Now it seems working but I think that this is not normal that we have to use such a special fuse on our boat. ... I hope that my boat will not burn a day because of this ....

Our 43 has a thermal fuse which will reset itself once it cools down. Only had it cut out once in heavy wind trying to dock in our slip. Are all your connections clean and tight? Is the bow thruster battery fine? How long was it until the fuse blew?
Last season, with no problems
This season ... at every use :-(
Beneteau and other technicians have checked rechecked and re-re-re checked the whole system and came to the result: You have a problem but we don't know where! Now with this fuse the Problem is solved (hope so!)
Well something changed for certain. Fuses don't start to blow without a good reason. Hopefully you wont have any more problems.
For me, the only explications is that the batteries are down.
Beneteau say No no no this is not possible ...
But I am sure they are ... the question is why .... after a year near to to Bowtruster and only in use with the bowtruster.
It's a simple circuit which shouldn't take much to figure out why. Things like that just dont change without a reason. I'm sure whatever the problem is it will let you know sooner or later. Good luck.
I hope that will be before the end of the warnety :-)
