I have a 2012 B37. I have installed a Banmar Roller Gen Code 08 last summer-works great. I am concerned that the tach line is attached to the bow roller which hasn't got any real added plate underneath to withstand the upward pull in stronger winds. The local dealer service rep told me story of someone litterly pulling bow roller off the bow in stronger wind on B40. I noticed that all the NEW Beneteaus have a support plate under the bow roller now attaching to bow peak. Anybody know if Beneteau has a field upgrade for Bow Roller Reinforcement plate?. I notice that Beneteau has an option sheet for the Gennaker Gear for the B43>>Computer Code ACB03 and they recommend attaching Tack line to the toggle on the bow roller??? Any comments welcome. I plan on having my SS fabricator make me one for spring. Any PICS of this plate and specs would be appreciated. There was an earlier disscussion on this but I couldn't find it.

Thanks

I started a discussion on Genaker gear and equipment a while back. I use a long D shackle and a block to the hole in the bow roller plate. The bolts that hold the plate to the deck are very close to this hole and provide sufficient support. I then lead the tack/downhaul back to the cockpit and to a sheet stopper that I installed on the starboard side. This picture shows a snatch block to the bow plate. I replaced it with a swivel block on a long D shackle. Email me if you want to see all the pics of the installation.

Hello Vince,

Here is a picture of the modification of our bow roller. It is very sturdy and works on traction and compression. We can also fix a gangway on it. If you want more details it is easier by mail.

The Code D cruising chute increases the speed in light winds dramatically.

Hi Bruce,

This exactly what I was looking for. Could you please forward any extra pics on Mfg. and measurements.

Great looking work and I am sure you have had use of Code  Where are you located??I am going to check Bow Roller today; I think it is the same as your original.

Thanks
