Hi, Yes I agree it seems a bit funny that some don't complete their profile or up load a photo. But we all don't have good internet access all the time, so I guess that might account for some. As for responding to posts or participating frequently, some of us are away from internet access for weeks, and when we get access we are busy catching up with emails. This site appears to me as a friendly site with members having a very good mix of sailing experience. The problem of membership numbers and their ability to do hours at a club is nearly a world wide problem, and I think it has a lot to do with our modern society. Too many hours on the job to make ends meet and for some too many commitments and not enough time. This does not necessarily improve/change once you start cruising.
Regards,
Stephen
Good point you have, Steve. Wish I could participate more and when I do get a chance to go ashore with the laptop to find a wifi zone, it's fun to snoop on the web and see when friends on the water are doing around the globe. This is a fun site and it's growing. Guess it's partly too that boating keeps us so busy and sometimes away from internet access. I'm either working on my boat or sailing her (or working to earn $$ for her). Some places I cruise to, the internet access drops, along with the power, on a regular basis. Anybody know of affordable satellite internet that includes surfing- not just email text?
Thanks everybody, and you Steve, for sharing when you can:)
