SeaKnots

I'm busy studying the course material that the Offshore Sailing School has sent me. My course is on 22-24 April 2009. The initial basics I found quite easy. However, the further I get through the book, I find myself more and more relieved that I got the study material so long in advance. The detail they go into is extraordinary and I feel confident that I'm going to get the max out of this course and that my choice in sailing school was a very good one. The excitement for the possibilities that this new future holds overwhelms me sometimes!

I've known Steve & Doris Colgate for a few decades now.
I've sailed with Steve on the Santa Cruz 73' DONNYBROOK.
They certainly have one of the best sailing schools in the nation.
At the US Naval Academy we have 30 (thirty) of the Colgate 26's.
Great training boat and the perform well racing under PHRF.
The Junior Varsity team uses them for training, and we have a fleet & match racing regatta in them in the Spring called the Intrepid Trophy.
We've had a few other Taylor designs, one that was named PAX NZL which we named POLARIS.

Congratulations on making the choice to learn sailing. You're only limited by the horizon.

I took the Colgate basic keelboat course in 2003 at South Seas Resort, Captiva Island, Florida. It was a great experience ... well-designed boat (Colgate 26), friendly instructors, a great facility, and fun sailing. I learned a lot and had a wonderful time. This is a first-class operation. Plan on lots of smiles.
