getting back to the beginning of this discussion, i donot see how a 13 pound danforth would help you if you already have a 7.5 kg bruce--multiply that by 2.2 to get poundage---i would go with a 20 or 25 pound cqr--will anchor well in the stuff in which you anchor and wont be toooo heavy to lift if you havent a windlass---and resets self when and if dragging anchor is a problem..unless shale under silt or sand---which isnt the case in icw..and in which case NOTHING works .......find a used one for sale and go from there---no reason to pay retail for anything ...LOL.~~~~~_/)~~~~~~~
The 13 lb high-tensile aluminum Fortress (Danforth, fluke type) is the physical size and equivilant holding of about a 35 pound Danforth - but more manageable because of its weight. it's designed for up to a 45 foot boat - I just like overkill on everthing on Paloma.
One other hint for managing chain - rather than carrying one huge chunk of chain, get a stainless, removable link - that way your 25 feet of chain can be two 12's if you are anchoring in thin water.
