I have a stove I bought years ago and would like to use on my current boat. (I like the CNG because it behaves very similar to propane but is lighter than air and therefore safer). Anyway it doesn't seem that they are very popular these days and I don't know where to get the CNG cylinder filled. It looks like a big SCUBA tank.. Is thereanyone else out there using CNG?? Does anyone know where in the Boston area I could get a cylinder filled?? Any help would beappreciated!

Have you explored on line?
I have with very little luck so far. I can find plenty of places that sell CNG for vehicles. (My work vehicle is CNG) but the con nection is VERY different at the filling stations. I am not sure if there is some kind of converter fitting available, that would be nice. But so far when I search online I can't seem to find much info on CNG stoves at all.. They were all the rage a few (20) tears ago!!
Years ago when we lived in New Jersey there was only one place in the entire state that you could get a tank refilled and it was ridiculously expensive as well.

Get rid of the CNG, you'll never be able to cruise with CNG as its just too hard to get. You see the difficulty that you're having now. Propane isn't dangerous, your propane system just has to be in good repair.

if you are going to be cruising, use propane--there are no places to get cng anywhere outside of usa and p ropane is cheeper and easier to obtain--if you use the proper safety mechanisms, is just as safe to use as is cng.....goood luck....if you are just going to sit at a dock and party--use cng....
Let me ask a friend who lives in Rhode Island and has CNG on her boat. I'll get back to you. Terri
Stop by the local fire dept., bet they have a list.or call town hall.
Thank you Teri, I will
It is very difficult to find places to refill CNG tanks. It's difficult in the states and darn near impossible elsewhere. Propane is the way to go--universally available and really quite safe.
