SeaKnots

OK..So it's called a blog...So be it! On with sailing and life...

This weekend was filled with helping a non-profit charity that I have been helping every week for over a year....The Ronald McDonald House Charities...If you do not know, they provide housing and a life for families that are dealing with kids under the age of 18 that have life threatning conditions. Most kids here are being treated at Duke University Medical Center (here in Durham, NC). It is very rewarding helping them and even when I live on a sailboat, I will try and organize boaters and sailors to help. A friend and his brother and I cooked a whole pig on the big grill and we stayed up all night tending to it. It was very good eating!
Dad and I finished buying the necessary personal gear we want to have with us on the cat for the first day of "school". Now, in 22 days, we cast off for a 7 day adventure...YEA! I am studying the instructional material and will continue to count the days down.
Other than that, life continues. I have finals to take with my community college courses this week and then I will take the summer short semester off and see how this sailing goes...If it goes how I think it will, my life will become sailing orientated and I will set new goals....My sister and I and my Dad are also going to Alaska for a 10 day land adventure in August...That should be fun too!....No cruise boating though, fly into Anchorage and tour around for 10 days and then fly out of Anchorage. That's it for now.....OH, also looking at L O L A's blog, I want to go to Myrtle Beach again soon...my sister has a co-worker that owns a vacation place there by Barefoot Landing, so that is where we go. Last time we were there was in March of this year...hence the pictures I have posted. It was cool in the mornings and everyone was wearing hooded sweatshirts and I was in swimtrunks....I guess I have no problems staying warm...:-) Later on...., Daniel
