SeaKnots

After a pleasant beam to broad reach from Georgetown to Thompson Bay on Long Island (Bahamas), I am off at first light for the Jumentos. I heard they are a beautiful series of cays running south from the Exumas. Every time I have ventured further into uncharted harbors I cringe with excitement. It is a bit scary. Thankfully, I have a buddy boat which is also a trimaran called TRIAD. The skipper has a married couple on board so the four of us have had our share of  laughter, provisioning, and good conversation.

We will part company somewhere south of the Ragged Islands as they have to head back north while I am seriously navigating thoughts of sailing through the Windward Passage with a stop on the southwest side of Jamaica. I was told there is a hidden resort called Horizon Cottages that would be a lovely place for a solo sailor to hang out for a few days before challenging the biggest of solo sails over to the San Blas Islands.

This is all so weird, actually living my dream. In some ways it all seems so simple. My boat is stable, my health is good, my pining is abating and my confidence is where it ought to be. A recent phrase heard seen on a poster helped me get over my frustration with negative thoughts, especially because I crave the truth regardless of how hurtful it can be.

"The truth can certainly set you free after making you angry."

It is o.k. to be angry, just be willing to accept the consequences of your behavior. It is the behavior , not the feelings, that get us in trouble.

Oh well, enough philosophizing,,,, be safe, sleep well, ta ta,,,,
