So, here I am ready, willing and able to get out on the Owl a week ago for her maiden voyage...but which didn't happen due to schedule conflicts and all sorts of hurdles in the way!
First of all, hubby's work put him on-call for a weekend (and this never happens). So sailing was out. Poor guy. He had to endure my conniption fit...and it was a DOOZY!!!
After that, we found out that our dear friends, Hans and Sue, sold their 27 foot sailboat, the Osprey. (pictured in my photos on my page) Such wonderful times we have all had. In the marina and elsewhere on the inter-coastal. Happy sailing, my dear friends!
Then, my camera charger got eaten by my house. I say this after looking for it for an hour. Beyond the effort point! This periodically happens, but until I find it, of course I can't use my camera! No pics of me in my new cowboy hat (you can take the sailer girl out of Texas but you can't take Texas out of the sailer girl!) but I am hoping for next weekend. [Note:I did finally order a charger on the internet because it wasn't prohibitively expensive.]
And next weekend is when we will FINALLY get the Sea Owl out of the marina and on the water (weather permitting)l. YAY!!!! Hans and Sue are taking us out and teaching us the basics so here's to 5 days of working and then ONWARD ho sailing in the BEST sailing state in the US.
No hurricanes on the horizon as of yet. Keeping our eyes peeled in the O Town.
Stay safe and dry.
