It has been a gorgeous sunny day here in the big O Town for Labor Day. No gusty winds and no rain today. HURRAY!!!
This will change later in the week as Hurricane Hanna comes to Mickey Mouse Land to visit....the western bands will effect our weather towards the end of the week, and EW will probably get hammered with rain again in Merritt Island. Managed to do a bit of leak-proofing for this storm, so am hoping that she takes on less water this time. I am praying so.
Bread at the store was somewhat decimated, so people are definitely getting ready in the
big O Town for Hanna. There also is another tropical depression forming out there for our observation. Pretty fast and busy season this year.
On the 528 going towards the east coast early this afternoon the sky was overcast with big fat grey clouds. And they were moving fairly quickly. Believe this was ramification of Gustav. Water that had flooded the woods from Fay has dropped somewhat also....although there is standing water in a lot of places.
There were some boaters out on the intercoastal near the barge canal this afternoon, but for the most part, people stayed in and made sure their boats were tied down. I didn't sail this weekend, but I made sure that I will have less water inside when I visit EW on Friday. I am hoping Hanna will be gone by then, but she probably will still be impacting our weather by spitting a lot of rain and gusting tons of wind. The water has dropped about another foot from the major waters Fay brought.
My best wishes and prayers to those in the Gulf dealing with Gustav. And to all of those people who are heading there to help....YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!
I hope everyone is able to stay dry and safe....I'll update tomorrow....
