100 book challenge

Elementary schools throughout the nation participate in a reading program for which students get prizes for documenting 'x's number of 26 minute blocks of reading for pleasure. An enormous amount of time and money I'd spent on this quest to motivate kids to become better readers. More and more my personal reading has increased.

17 Days But Who is Counting?

No blogging in 17 days because of that overwhelming sensation when one juggles upkeep on a house and a boat while mismanaging their money. Then there is the stress of work minimum time.for.fitness because 2hours 5 days a week are spent driving.back.and.forth.to.check.on.the.boat. It's a Hard Life

Poor SPRAY, back on the hard after an innocent, albeit expensive, mishap about 1/4 of a mile outside her slip. It seems the safety line thrown out the day before was not retrieved before setting off to join the Melbourne Yacht Club's annual seafood raft up. No, Amy, It Doesn't Get Better Than This . . .

Last Wednesday it was time to return to school for my final semester involved with traditional education.  When the week-end finally arrived I was rewarded with 3 days of being surrounded with the best group of beach cat sailors around. Having sailed with some of these guys and gals since my debut way back in the summer of 1980, it was a bitter sweet reunion as life takes its toll on all. Its Afterall, the camraderie that exists amongst this group keeps the old spirits alive as friendships…
