As Tony Horton frequently says during his P90X work outs, I will capitalize on his words and say to each of you, "Bring it On 2012." Never before has a new year begun with such optimism. Every where you look opportunity abounds. Certainly when it comes to sailing there is no shortage of activity, especially when one lives in the sunshine state. While most local sailing is done during the day, when the full moon rises over the coast on a cloudless navy blue sueded sky, how can you not be on your boat, or someone else's boat? It is the perfect remedy for washing away any anxiety.

Life is too short to ignore the sight of a manatee cruising across the bay, or what about sneaking a peek at a flock of snowbirds (not the humankind)? Years ago when vacationing in South Africa my friend would open a bottle of wine about ten o'clock each morning. As she set down her glass after the first sip, she'd whisper, "Gee, I wonder what the poor people are doing?"  Then, we'd giggle in unison, "probably the same thing we're doing." After all a good bottle of Moet was about $2.50. Well, it wasn't really Moet, but it was a dern good African equivalent.

Whether you are a wino, a boat owner, or simple a friend of the both or neither, make this year the year you "Bring it On." Whatever you think about doing, do.....
