I am a new boat owner, still learning the ropes, but I hope to take my Catalina 27 cruising some day soon. For now I know the San Francisco Bay area has much to teach me, so I am content there...for now.
Current location:
Sacramento, Ca
Destinations visited:
Sacramento Delta, Long Beach, Ventura, Santa Barbara.
Looking to:
Polish my skills so I can cruise in the future, maybe to Hawaii.
Hi Kevin, still screwing around with the ports .... friend sealed two, one still leaking. Is it possible to buy just the gasket?? withouth the whole kit? Thinking about trying ourselves...company out here will do for 85.00 port without replacing gasket. Many have told me gasket doesn't do anything (interior) to keep water out, it's all in the proper rebedding. Thanks, Terri
Hi Kevin, My ports all fixed (what were they think'n??). Have seen the CD kit for them, will probably get it. Will attempt fix'n the leak'n one first and see how I do. then get brave and do the rest. Thank you! Do they have replacement opening ports for head and port across from it. small ones, figure may replace those w/opening for some cross ventalation. Also bought a solar air fan..all on the "when i get brave" list.. :-)
Hey Kevin! Hope you're doing well and sailing your Baby. I'm getting splashed soon, I hope... still freak'in cold up here! Going tomorrow to finish polishing the brightwork. Someone told me months ago about replacement gasket (?) for port lights. Mine have dried and are slightly leak'in..do you know where I can get?? Looked on Cat. Direct site, no luck. Thanks! Terri
Hey Kevin, went out this weekend, all day sat, n half day sunday, wow, what ride, sat winds 20-25, puffs 30, what a ride, sunday was nuts started out same as sat, then when I went to come back was blowing 25-30 with the highest clocked 41.1 knts, what a ride, put the 2nd reef in the main, amazing day, love that boat was a real thrill. well got to get some rest talk to you later.
Hi Kevin, Hope you're getting some sailing in. I might be ordering a mastgate from Catalina Direct.. When I derigged boat for the first time, took it off & put in a safe place...lol....gonna give it 4 more weeks to show up. I know it didn't go out in the trash...I always get in trouble with those safe place's. Next time, duct taped to the ceiling.
