That's what I thought you were thinking. Ha ha that would be vulnerable. Beneteau has been doing it this way for years and from what I know there hasn't been a problem with it. How do you like your 40 so far?
Yes Beneteau builds their hulls in two pieces but it's a very strong hull. They actually build the outer hull in a single mold. They then epoxy a hull liner into place with 3M 5200 forming a very strong bond between the two.The inner liner has the stringers incorporated into it which adds strength. They used to have pictures of the process on their website, try doing a search for it.
As for how to reach the entire 40/43 folks just do a group post.
