Hi Franc, I had my family over today for Jake’s birthday and wanted to show them our day at sea on seaknots. When did you change the web site to a login? Eileen let me see the email about your web page and that it was in a sailing magazine that’s pretty amazing that something like this could be really big.

Hello Franc: Trust you had a wonderful time sailing the coast of Turkey. I apologize for not responding to you....it was not intentional.....gotta check my emails more often. Must get a map of Turkey so I can respond with any authority. I didn't keep a log of that trip and can't remember the names of the ports where we docked or anchored. Guess it's a moot point now. The boat is based in Marmaris, we went north up the coast to the Cleopatra Baths, then back south to Bodrum and Gocek and the furthest to Fatelaya (?) which is an ancient cross-roads city that has an incridible market.....really enjoyed that. Also a beautiful new marina that had their official opening when we were there.....was even interviewed by a Turkish TV network. Dianne
Thanks Franc. It was an uneventful delivery home from Great Hudson. We found a problem with our charging system, but we got that sorted. We're actually in Milford, CT at the moment. We left Monday late in the afternoon and went to Oyster Bay, then on to Port Jeff or a couple of days, today to Milford, we'll stay here tomorrow, go to Northport on Saturday, and Sunday head for home. Then, we'll likely head out again on Thursday and extend the already long weekend, and hopefully we'll see you in Oyster Bay!
hi frank,nice to meet you.
how lond did you have the beneteau?was it an old boat?mine is 3 years old ..in the footloose program in tortola.was there any problem with it?lydia
Franc: Before I can go anywhere, I have to do a major plumbing fix on the boat. The fresh water pressure pump died on me (after how many years of service, I don't kow). I have the replacement, and I'll be getting down to business with installing it right after my first cup of coffee tomorrow morning. I can fill you in w/ details if I see you at Newport tonight.
Yep, got the details. I've checked out Eldridge's for best departure time in terms of current changes. I'll give it a second look when I'm back at the boat tonight.
Have made it to NY and am on a mooring ball at 79th St boat basin. Also has great access, and is quite rolly - and inexpensive. I haven't found Newport marina yet, but will probably head north later this week
Hi Franc, The photo turned out well. I remember Incognito well, please say Hi for me. Some friends I sailed to Israel with earlier this year turned up, saw and borrowed the book for a day. When they returned it they pointed out that they had found their boat, Nisos, in it as well. Yep it certainly is a small world. It was really great to meet you guys, looking forward to when we next cross paths.
The RYC on 7/19? Sounds pretty good to me. Let me check w/ the Admiral. We have a couple good friends there, so that might sweeten the deal a bit. What's the plan? Sail down Saturday and stay over, then come back Sunday?
Thank you. We just headed north again today, with on and off internet access. Will probably be in Annapolis tomorrow, and NYC in a week or two.
Will happily accept suggestions, particularly since I am not familiar with NYC.

I hope the negotiations go well and quickly for their release. I don't think I would like to visit Somalia at the present time, specially as a forced visit. I don't have a copy of the book, so am not too sure how it handled the double translation. Thankfully no piracy here in the Med.
Hi Franc, as you will be on a Gulet, I suggest you let the skipper choose the places as he will be trying to give you a good trip. I am pretty sure you will see all the best spots. Have a great holiday. Regards, Stephen
Hey Franc, with my expirience to visit the best places with a gulet- leave the Turkish skipper the decision where and when to go, they know best. jochanan
yes....you didn't say when you where going.....let me check my map so I can tell you some good spots to visit that I did.....just gotta make sure I spell the names correctly.....overall you will love your experience there.....all the folks I met were wonderfully acceptable, friendly and hospitable.....I was there on a local's boat so that may have made a difference as I wasn't considered a tourist......
